about

Black Zheep‘s Refugee sounds like a history of the hood, as told by someone who’s been posted on the block, since the days of horse and buggy drivebys. What’s that actually sound like? Spacey production with bass that hits hard, lots of lowkey clever raps that don’t reveal themselves until you listen to the track a couple times, and a cool delivery that constantly says “I’ve seen all this shit before”. If you could ever get that crazy dude that hangs out in front of the liquor store to take his antipsychotics, he might lay out a chronology of the streets, that sounds a lot like this mixtape by a young dude from Baltimore.

about

MishkaNYC New York, New York

A New York City fixture since 2003, Мишка (“Mishka,” or “bear cub” in Russian) clawed their own path through the often homogenous streetwear world, beginning humbly as a small t-shirt upstart and maturing into a full blown cut & sew powerhouse.
