Why have one EP when you can have two instead? We’ve done a split release or two with Мишка Records, but never quite like this. Today we’re happy to present two companion EPs, each separate pieces from separate artists and yet intimately connected and intertwined.
Hypermotion X from Ritualz. Hypermotion B from Funerals. Apart, each displays the best of their respective artists, whether it be the deep midnight techno of Columbus duo Funerals or gothic trance electronic of Ritualz.
But together, the Hypermotion set displays a fascinating bout between space and time, as Ritualz works in the farthest reaches of outer alien space, and Funerals travels backwards through the timestream, from the sounds of the early 90s to samples ripped from 50s nuclear propaganda.
These two EP’s compliment each other in myriad ways, most basically in their twin covers and 4 song tracklists, and running down through their musical influence. They’re very different too, but together they’re even more than the sum of their parts.
